As a poncho it covers your pack, has a brimmed hood and can be open or closed down the sides. It also works wonderfully as a tarp/hootchie and can be strung up with walking poles or between trees. Also use it as a ground sheet. All of this comes in a nice neat little package.
Poncho’s are great for humid wet weather trekking as they can be easily ventilated. As it also covers your pack, they are also great to take to places where you are expecting it to pretty much rain the whole time.
